Love Potions

Believe it or not, love potions do exist in this world. The only difference is that it is more scientific than magical as depicted by J.K. Rowling.

Love potions have been a popular topic in many popular fantasy novels, bedtime stories, as well as in artworks. It is usually depicted as a mixture of solutions made by witches or alchemists/potioneers to induce severe infatuation or obsession to anyone who smelled or drank the solution to the one that gave him/her the potion.

A popular example of the use and effect of love potions is in J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series, most particularly in The Half-Blood Prince (book) in which Voldemort’s mother, Merope Gaunt, used a love potion to attract Tom Riddle Sr., Voldemort’s father. This only lasted when Merope stopped using the potion to attract Riddle. It was also in the same book when Ron Weasley was affected by a love potion.

But believe it or not, love potions do exist in reality. The only difference is that it is more scientific than magical as depicted in novels.

Love Potions in the Real World
Love potions in this world are known as human pheromones. Although pheromones are usually found and discussed in animals, humans are also known to produce pheromones which also acts the same way pheromones work in the animal kingdom, sexual attraction.

Research of Human Pheromones
Countless research was done involving the effects of human pheromones over the years. One popular effect that scientists have found is that it greatly affected menstrual cycles in women.

According to several studies, a woman’s sweat can greatly affect other women’s menstrual cycles. Its effects involve menstrual cycles to speed up or slow down depending on the time in the month the sweat was collected: before, during, or after ovulation.

But other than in menstrual cycles, human pheromones can also act as aphrodisiacs which can be used for sexual attractions.

How Love Potions Work in Reality
Similar to love potions in Harry Potter, pheromones are also known to exude an aroma which is said to affect the behavior of the opposite sex. The only difference is that pheromones only work through the olfactory senses rather than drinking or consuming the solution, such as in the case of Merope Guant and in Ron Weasley, and that pheromones are used to heighten the opposite sex’ sexual urge rather than to induce infatuation.

According to scientists, different humans exude different quantities of pheromones. The more pheromone a man or a woman exudes, the more attractive they can get. The sad thing is, there are also people who exude smaller quantities of pheromones.

It is because of this that a number of products were introduced around the world which aims to produce larger amounts of pheromones which will enable a man, or even a woman, to attract the opposite sex as easily as others have done. One popular example is LuvEssential’s collection of pheromones which have been successful in their efforts to help their clients to receive more one-night stands than the average Joe.

Love Potions in the Market
Like the Weasley Brothers, many companies have started to sell their own versions of love potions which will enable men and women to increase their sexual attraction over the opposite sex. LuvEssentials is one of the very few who have successfully marketed their product all over the world in an effort to provide people the chance to feel more sexually attractive, allowing them to have the privileges of one-night-stands and the attention of the opposite sex.
